31 August 2026

A detailed look at the connection between Hartmannstraße / Leipziger Straße and Wittgensdorfer Straße. As part of Phase 4 of the Chemnitz Model, a modern, four-lane transportation corridor is planned here over a length of 1.8 kilometers—featuring green double tracks for the tram and continuous bike paths along the entire route.

As the general planner, iproplan® is working together with the Central Saxony Transport Association to oversee Planning Approval Section 2 of this project. The goal is to create a seamless connection between the tram and rail networks in Chemnitz and the surrounding area—a key component for the region’s future mobility.

Step by step, the future transportation infrastructure for Chemnitz and the surrounding area is taking shape.
