Shaping the future - showing commitment
The construction of buildings and infrastructure covers surfaces and consumes energy and materials. The construction sector is responsible for almost 40% of energy consumption in Germany.
The consumption of resources in the construction industry is similarly high and construction and demolition waste also contributes around 50% of the waste generated. In addition, around 30% of CO2 emissions are caused by buildings. Sustainability is therefore a high priority in planning and construction.

At iproplan®, we take our ecological responsibility very seriously when designing the building environment and address future-oriented topics.
We meet challenges such as resource scarcity and climate change with project-specific concepts and solutions that combine ecological, economical, socio-cultural and technical aspects of sustainability and promote resource and energy efficiency.
To achieve this, we work together in interdisciplinary project teams consisting of experienced architects, engineers, building engineering physicists, sustainability consultants and energy efficiency experts. For us, sustainability begins in the early phases of planning and continues throughout the entire life cycle. Sustainable buildings create added value compared to conventional construction methods. They stand for high user comfort, functionality and long-term value retention. At the same time, they are characterised by low operating and maintenance costs.
Last but not least, future-oriented buildings make a contribution to climate protection and the circular economy and have a high level of resilience to legal requirements.

We have extensive expertise in the field of consulting and auditing in accordance with the requirements of certification systems for buildings and neighbourhoods, such as
- BNB (Assessment System for Sustainable Building)
- DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council)
- LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
- EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies)
During the certification process, we support our clients with sustainability consulting during planning and construction in order to achieve the desired goal. We have DGNB auditors and consultants as well as BNB coordinators on hand for this purpose.
In addition, we have technical know-how and accredited experts in the following areas:
- ESG verification for the EU taxonomy
- Advising and reviewing the conformity of real estate with regard to the criteria of the EU Taxonomy as part of the EU Green Deal
- QNG (Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings)
- Support in achieving an Efficiency House/ building NH class "Sustainable building" with a sustainability certificate from an accredited body
Planning and consulting services on sustainability, as well as energy and resource efficiency and climate resilience:
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
- Life Cycle Cost Calculation (LCC)
- Thermal Building Simulations
- Daylight simulations
- Solarisation study/Shading simulation
- Material-ecological testing of building materials
- Evaluation of dismantling and recyclability, reusability and purity of origin (circular economy)
- Comprehensive life-cycle advice and evaluation of materials and resources used
- Consideration, evaluation and optimization of drinking water and wastewater volumes
- Preparation of climate protection roadmaps for building operation in accordance with CRREM (Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor)
- Measurement-based quality assurance of the construction work, such as:
- Airtightness test (blower door test)
- Infrared thermography
- Building and architectural acoustics measurements
- Sound Level Measurements (Environmental Noise)
- Urban climatic assessments and analyses
- Climate simulations (macro and micro simulations)
- Climate risk and vulnerability analyses
- Development of biodiversity concepts (e.g. animal-aided design) based on DGNB, BNB, LEED, EDGE
