Before continuing in the spring, we look back on an exciting infrastructure project.

The University of Bayreuth is growing: new areas for research and teaching are being created in the northeastern campus area. Development work has been underway since July 2025. The client for this significant project is the Free State of Bavaria, represented by the Bayreuth State Building Authority.

Our task at iproplan®: Development planning, construction management, and construction supervision for the complete media supply:

• Local heating
• Local cooling system
• Drinking water and firefighting water with drinking water separation station
• Empty conduit route for telecommunications

The technical challenge: Connection to the existing tunnel and supply system without space for creating connections in the existing tunnel system.
Our solution: An underground connection structure that intelligently connects the old and new systems and relieves the overall network.

We are currently experiencing a weather-related interruption – the next construction phase will begin in the spring!
