On 14th June 2019, the new building at the hospital Elblandklinikum was solemnly inaugurated in the presence of former Minister of the Interior, Thomas de Maizière.
For this project that had been reissued after 2014, iproplan® was commissioned with the structural engineering services for the entire pre-contract stage, ranging from design brief to the preparation of the tender documents, as well as with the local site supervision and monitoring of the execution.
Despite of several design changes and the postponement of construction works during the construction period, all designs relevant for the execution have been provided on time. The extension building provides space for the new emergency department, the dialysis and the entire X-ray diagnostics department.
A special focus was additionally laid on the integration of two cutting-edge left-heart-catheterization laboratories that correspond to the state-of-the-art.
Thanks to the selected supporting structure with point-supported flat slabs in a grid of 6.25 m to 7.5 m, a flexible floor plan design can be made possible over the entire life-cycle of the building.
Hence, the hospital can always adhere to state-of-the-art technology.
