28 November 2024

At the Saxony Chamber of Engineers Day 2024 in Glauchau, over 350 participants discussed the key topic of “Skills shortage and recruitment in engineering”. Chamber President Dr.-Ing. Hans-Jörg Temann called for an improvement in award procedures and fairer fees for engineers in order to avoid a backlog of renovation work. Minister President Michael Kretschmer emphasized Saxony's importance as an engineering location and the state's high investment rate.

The specialist program of the Chamber of Engineers Day included a specialist section on the topic of “Sustainability and climate-friendly construction”. In this section, innovative approaches and strategies were discussed on how engineers can contribute to the implementation of sustainable and climate-friendly construction.

Prof. Dr. Isabell M. Welpe gave a keynote speech on success strategies for the engineers of the future. The highlights of the event were the presentation of the Wackerbarth Medal to Axel Bobbe and the Saxon Engineering Award to Henry Seifert.

A big thank you to our colleague and expert Saad for his valuable contribution and support at the Chamber of Engineers Day, especially for taking over the moderation of Section 1 “Sustainability and climate-friendly construction”. An all-round successful event for the engineering sector in Saxony!
