Behind the spectacular demolition of the Chemnitz chimney at the Altchemnitz heating plant lies a no less exciting and complex preparatory process that many people are unaware of. Before it could be carried out, a thorough investigation of building pollutants was required in order to lay the foundations for environmentally friendly and sustainable dismantling.
Our experts Micha Höft & Martin Rühlmann carried out a detailed investigation of the Schonstein a year ago - a process that is anything but ordinary in terms of its depth and accuracy.
They took precise samples from the flue gas duct and the inside of the chimney to analyze and classify pollutants and residues. This detailed step is important and crucial to achieve a high level of recycling.
Careful preparation is the key to environmentally friendly and sustainable demolition. Thanks to this approach, we were able to ensure that the chimney was not only professionally dismantled, but also that its materials were efficiently recycled. The removed steel is melted down and reused, while the concrete is recycled as a building material for new projects. This ensures that the entire demolition process is sustainable and responsible.
