As specialist planners for the track system, we were commissioned to plan a new track and 2 stops in Wiesestraße in Gera. The challenge here was to find a solution that would ensure effective vibration isolation, as the residential development in the vicinity is very dense.
We found an innovative solution to minimize vibrations and protect residents from noise: By using a lightweight mass-spring system, we were able to ensure that the track body is fully elastically supported. The result is effective vibration isolation without compromising the efficiency of public transport.
The formal opening ceremony has now taken place on 03.05.2023, attended by representatives of the state government, the transport authorities and the companies involved.
