German Bridge Construction Award 2025

20 March 2025

Outstanding engineering structures were honored yesterday in Dresden at the German Bridge Construction Award 2025 ceremony. The New Oder Bridge Küstrin-Kostrzyn and the Petersberg Bastion Crown Path in Erfurt prevailed in their categories and impressed with innovative and technically sophisticated solutions.

The special monument prize was awarded to the Chemnitz Viaduct. The historic structure, built between 1901 and 1909, underwent careful modernization, combining historical elements with modern requirements for load-bearing capacity and durability. The jury praised the viaduct as a successful bridge between the past and the future.

Jörg Thiele, a member of the jury, emphasized the importance of such projects for sustainable infrastructure development and the preservation of cultural assets. The German Bridge Construction Award 2025 thus honors both technical innovations and the demanding work on historic structures.
